Parasha Terumah

God instructs Moses on the construction of the Tabernacle — His dwelling place among Israel.

Overview

Parasha Terumah shifts from narrative to detailed architectural instruction. God commands Moses to collect donations from the people and use them to build a portable sanctuary: the Mishkan (Tabernacle).

The Story

God describes in precise detail the Ark of the Covenant, the Table for the showbread, the Menorah, the Tabernacle curtains and frames, and the outer courtyard. The central theme is expressed in one verse: "Let them make Me a sanctuary, and I will dwell among them" (Exodus 25:8).

Significance for Noahides

The Tabernacle represents the idea that God desires to dwell not just in heaven but in the midst of humanity. Every detail of its construction carries spiritual meaning. For Noahides, the Tabernacle teaches that the physical world can be sanctified — that material things, when dedicated to God, become vessels of the divine presence.
